Longhaul Terms of Service
Effective date: 15 October 2026
1. Who we are
Longhaul is provided by Chaoming Weng, a sole trader in Ireland, trading as Longhaul ("we", "us"). Address: 23 Vevay Crescent, Bray, Co. Wicklow, A98 EW28. Email: support@uselonghaul.com.
2. What Longhaul is
Longhaul is a macOS app and an online relay service. The app runs on your Mac and lets a ChatGPT chat plan and review software work that the Codex CLI carries out on your Mac. The relay connects ChatGPT to your Mac so the chat can use Longhaul's tools.
Longhaul is not made, endorsed, or supported by OpenAI. ChatGPT and Codex are trademarks of OpenAI. You need your own ChatGPT account and your own Codex CLI, and you use them under OpenAI's terms. What you can do with them, and how much, depends on your OpenAI plan and can change at any time without notice from us.
3. Your account
- You need an account to use the relay. You sign in with codes we send to your email address; keep that mailbox secure.
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract.
- One account is for one person. Do not share it or let others use it.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account and on the Mac you connect to it.
4. Subscription, trial, and payment
- Longhaul costs $7 a month or $59 a year, as shown at checkout, including any sales tax or VAT that applies.
- Sales are handled by Stripe Managed Payments, with Link as the merchant of record: you pay Link, your statement shows "LINK.COM*", Link sends the receipts, and Link's own terms apply to the payment.
- A new account gets a 7-day free trial once. We ask for a card when the trial starts. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the first payment is taken then. An account, or a card, that has had a trial gets no second one.
- The subscription renews at the end of each month or year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, online, from the account page or from your Link account; access continues until the end of the period you paid for, and nothing more is charged.
- If a payment fails, the service keeps working for 3 days while the card is retried; after that, tool calls stop until the payment succeeds.
- Refunds follow our Refund Policy.
- We may change prices. A new price applies from your next renewal, and we tell you by email at least 30 days before.
5. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use Longhaul against the law, or against OpenAI's terms or usage policies;
- try to reach another person's account, Mac, or data, or to get around the subscription check, rate limits, or other protections;
- overload, probe, or attack the relay, or resell or share access to it;
- copy, decompile, or modify the app, except as the law allows or as an open-source license of a component allows.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where it is reasonable, we tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.
6. Your code and data
Your code stays yours. The relay passes your tool calls and their results between ChatGPT and your Mac and does not store them. Longhaul works on the folders you choose; you decide what Codex may change, and you review and keep the results. Keep backups: software that edits code can make mistakes. The Privacy Policy explains what we do hold.
7. The app and updates
We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to install and use the app on Macs you own or control while you have an account. The app updates itself; some updates may be needed to keep using the relay. The app includes open-source software under its own licenses, listed in the app (Longhaul > Open-Source Licenses).
8. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the relay running, but it may be unavailable at times, for example for maintenance or because of providers we depend on. We may change or stop features. If we stop the service altogether, we tell you at least 30 days ahead and refund any period you paid for but cannot use.
9. Warranty and liability
- If you are a consumer, the law gives you rights that these terms do not limit, including the right to a service that is as described and fit for its purpose, and remedies when it is not.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
- We do not promise how much use you get from your OpenAI plan, since OpenAI sets and changes its limits.
- If you use Longhaul for a business, it is provided "as is", and we are not liable for lost profits, lost data, or indirect loss; our total liability to a business is limited to what it paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
10. Ending
You can stop at any time: cancel your subscription and, if you want, ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy). We may end these terms under section 5, or with 30 days' notice for any other reason, refunding any period you paid for but cannot use.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For changes that matter to you, we email you at least 30 days before they apply; if you do not agree, you can cancel before then.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and can bring a claim there. Please contact us first at support@uselonghaul.com; we try to solve problems directly.
